This is a microcontroller made in Japan. One costs $0.245.

The reason it's made in Japan is that right now, the Japanese yen is cheaper compared to the U.S. dollar.
That's why the price is low.
There are also microcontrollers made in the U.S., but they are too high-performance.
Because of that, they might break U.S. laws.
What I mean is, they are so powerful that they could be used for bad purposes.
On the other hand, the Japanese ones, unfortunately, aren’t as powerful as the U.S. ones.
But this is actually a good thing.
Because they have just the right performance, they don’t break U.S. laws and can be exported.
